The Kardz For Kidz Foundation was founded by

RJ & Ashley Hampton in 2025.

 

One night I was sitting in my office watching a new sales website I had found called What Not. I had just got done with my 2nd WhatNot live stream trying to sell some old basketball cards, and the stream did not go well. After the give away and the 2 sales I made I had lost money and was upset. I began to pray and ask God why I had found this website and why I felt so impressed on by Him to do sales on this site if I couldn't even sell some basketball cards.

 

As I was praying I was looking at all of these cards on my

desk and had the thought I would have loved to have some cool cards like these when I was a kid.

 

I had grown up in a single parent home with my mom, visiting my dad every other weekend, and money was always tight. Many times I remember people from our church buying my "cool" clothes and shoes so I fit in at school better, and how thankful my mom was that other's helped in our times of need.

 

By this time I was about to go to bed and I clicked on one more WhatNot Stream that happened to be Pokemon Cards. Sitting there watching the stream I was reminded of how much I loved Pokemon as a kid. Playing Pokemon Yellow on my GameBoy and collecting all the cool cards.

While watching I seen the seller was asking if people wanted their bulk cards or just the hits and a lot of people were just asking to have the hits sent to them. Again I said to myself, "I would have loved to just have the bulk when I was a Kid."

"That's It!" I said out loud. I grabbed a envelope (The closest paper I had on my desk) and pen and wrote out what I felt I was supposed to do. Kardz For Kidz, where people donate old and new trading cards to Kids ages 6 - 17 who are either in low income families, in the foster care system, or dealing with life threatening or debilitating illness, bringing them joy and hope that someone cares for them. I would use WhatNot to help fund the organization by selling Pokemon cards and give people the option to donate the cards they didn't want. We would donate these cards to Kidz two times a year, once on Christmas, and Once on their birthday from 6 years old until their 17th Birthday. In every set of Kardz we will give them a custom card with a message of hope and encouragement and a prayer over their life.

A few weeks later we opened The Kardz For Kidz Foundation. We are currently working on getting our 501(C)(3) status, and we are believing we will be able to give to hundreds of Kids this first year. 

​

Our first give away is being planned and hope to bless hundreds of children for Christmas this year.

In the next few years we hope to start a scholarship fund for our kidz that want to go into ministry or into business/entrepreneurism and one day we hope other creator's will join our team to encourage others to donate to Kardz For Kidz as well.
